TCSP Networking Lunches Telephone: 01843 609336 Email: [email protected] Thanet Hub We know how important it is for local community-based organisations to be able to meet up with each-other, to share information, ideas, service updates and best practice. In order to facilitate this, we hold monthly Networking lunches where organisations from the charity, community, public and voluntary sectors can meet. We warmly invite you to come along and build new or existing links with like-minded people and organisations from around the Thanet community. Where are they held? We alternate between the Kent Innovation Centre in Broadstairs, CT10 2QQ; and Ss. Austin & Gregory's Parish Hall in Margate, CT9 1LP. When do they take place? Our Networking lunches ordinarily take place on the last Monday of the month, from 12:30pm-2pm. The only exception being bank holidays - lunches are held the week before - and December. What to expect The usual format for our Networking Lunches is as follows: Networking (10 mins) Lunch & Learn (20 mins) Updates from the organisations present (30 mins) Networking (time remaining) Lunch & Learn is an informal talk by an organisation from the Network, sharing their ideas, projects and activities, or areas of expertise in a certain area, such as fundraising, charity law, volunteer recruitment, and so on. Sometimes, there are two Lunch & Learn slots at one Networking lunch, in response to the ever important need for information-sharing and the learning of tips for best practice. We serve tea, coffee, biscuits and healthy snacks, but please feel free to bring your own lunch along with you too! There is no need to pre-book as we understand that flexibility is key whichever sector you work in. If you would like to join our ever growing Network of community organisations, please don't hesitate to contact us on 01843 609336 or [email protected]. Academy FM Thanet We are very proud to work in collaboration with Thanet's thriving charity community radio station, Academy FM Thanet, to raise the profile of charity sector and volunteer groups in Thanet through the station's highly effective Community Action facility. It works by you attending a Networking lunch, and with help from our trained staff, recording a 60-second summary of your organisation - including the work you do, a call to action (e.g. fundraising or volunteer recruitment), and how to get in touch with you. The recordings are sent to Academy FM for editing, and are then played out regularly in the weeks ahead. Contact us on 01843 609336 to book your Community Action slot at an upcoming Networking lunch. Academy FM also offers several reasonably-priced advertising opportunities should your charity wish to scale up your profile locally. Please contact the station directly if you are interested in learning more.
