18+ Families Flexible Home Visiting Support Training Given Young Families

Description

Demelza’s amazing team of practical support volunteers help local families with everyday tasks, from gardening, tidying and laundry to small DIY and decorating jobs – helping them keep on top of day-to-day pressures and allowing families to focus on what matters most – spending quality time together.

Tasks are always arranged to work around you, and there is no minimum or maximum amount of support required.

Every volunteer has different skills to offer – you do not need to have any professional experience to be able to help, we will take you preferences and skills into account to make sure you only undertake tasks you’re comfortable with.

All Practical Support volunteers have an initial interview with a member of the team, followed by a training session for volunteering with Demelza families. You will also receive a face to face induction, as well as ongoing support and supervision from the team.

If you’re ready to use your skills to make a difference, please apply now. If you would like more information and want to speak to a member of the Practical Support team, please call us on 01795 845299 or email practicalsupport@demelza.org.uk.

What rewards come with volunteering, and how does it create meaningful change?

Our Practical Support volunteers make a real difference to families and can see the impact their support has first hand.

There are always things to be done around the house, but they often become secondary when caring for a child with a serious or life limiting condition.

As a practical support volunteer, you can help lighten the load of the every day for families in the local area.

You will also get to meet a group of likeminded individuals, volunteering with the same passion to help others.
