Description
We are looking for volunteers to join a 2-year project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by Canterbury Christ Church University in collaboration with Ramsgate Clock House, Dickens House Museum, Deal Maritime and Local History Museum and Sandwich Guildhall Museum.
This is an opportunity to develop new skills in research and digital storytelling, in a supportive environment. You will receive free training, as well as a chance to see behind the scenes in your local museum.
As a volunteer you will:
- Record and digitise at-risk archives, preserving them for future generations
- Research and celebrate local history
- Build an online story-telling space with support from our Digital Officer
- Meet other volunteers at our training days, finishing up with a day trip to Greenwich Maritime Museum and the Railway Museum
What rewards come with volunteering, and how does it create meaningful change?
Volunteers on this project will contribute to the preservation and interpretation of historic collections that might otherwise be lost. It’s also a great way to boost your CV, gain skills in Digital Heritage and meet new people.
