Kent Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards: Winner 2021
On Friday 22nd October we were delighted to attend the Kent Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards at the Ashford International Hotel as an award winner. We were presented with the Innovation Award in Folkestone for our Anthology project; a community arts initiative that helped to tackle the loneliness experienced by our befriending clients during the lockdowns. The project has resulted in a book that details the experiences of local, older people during the pandemic.
The Kent Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards is an annual event to showcase the people, organisations and initiatives that help us cope with life. Never has that support been more important than in the last year as we struggled to comprehend Covid-19 and the impact and stress of lockdown. The awards are staged by the mental health charity South Kent Mind, in collaboration with local Mind charities in Kent and Medway. Thirty-three people, organisations and initiatives were recognised, and South Kent Mind has produced a fabulous booklet with information about the projects of all the worthy winners.
If you would like to purchase a copy of Anthology, you can do so by donating £7 (incl. postage) here, with a note to say ‘Anthology’. All proceeds from sales will support our work. You can also visit a free public art installation of the project at Folkestone’s Leas Lift: https://folkestonefringe.com/events/home/
