18+ Community Engagement Management Responsibility Training Given
Description
Join us as a Community Network Lead and inspire change in your local area. In this rewarding volunteer role, you’ll lead and grow a team delivering first aid, community education, and fundraising activities that save lives and strengthen communities.
You’ll build partnerships, motivate volunteers, and create an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone can thrive. With training, ongoing support, and the chance to shape St John’s impact locally, you’ll be at the heart of making a real difference.
If you’re a natural leader with a passion for people and community, this is your opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.
What rewards come with volunteering, and how does it create meaningful change?
Volunteering offers skills, friendships, and a deep sense of fulfilment. You’ll develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities while building lasting connections with people who share your values. The reward comes from knowing your actions directly help others—whether that’s teaching life-saving first aid, supporting events, or inspiring new volunteers.
Your time creates meaningful change by strengthening and connecting communities. You help improve access to health education, increase resilience, and encourage others to get involved. Every contribution—big or small—has a ripple effect, inspiring community spirit and creating lasting, positive impact.
In short, volunteering benefits others while enriching your own life.
Requirements
This role requires a passion for making a difference in your community and the ability to lead and inspire others. You’ll need strong leadership and people management skills, with the confidence to motivate and support volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities are essential, as is the capacity to work proactively and use your initiative.
You should be able to plan and organise effectively, build partnerships with local organisations, and lead people through change with empathy. An understanding of inclusivity, community engagement, and the importance of recognising and developing others is key.
The role also requires commitment—around 30 hours per month—and a willingness to complete training in safeguarding, diversity, GDPR, leadership, and other relevant areas. You’ll be expected to embody St John’s values, represent the organisation positively, and continuously seek ways to improve and increase the impact of your network.
