Description

Shapeshifter Productions is a performing arts charity looking for passionate, experienced and committed volunteers who would like to support our new project: Big World Festival. 

Flyering: do you know the best places to hang out in Folkestone and surrounding areas?

Do you know which shops, record stores and venues accept our promotional materials?

We need you to support us by spreading the word!

The areas to cover are: Folkestone and Hythe, Thanet, Ashford, Canterbury, and the South East coast.

What rewards come with volunteering, and how does it create meaningful change?

Big World Festival is a new world music festival in Folkestone, running 1–4 October 2026 and produced by Shapeshifter Productions.

The inaugural edition brings participatory events and world-class performances from artists including Suntou Susso, Andrew Cronshaw, Tigran Aleksanyan, Baka Beyond, Alfredo Martin Espindola and the London Bulgarian Choir.

Across four days the town fills with musical traditions from every latitude — the tabla, the duduk, the djembe, the kora and the bandoneon — a festival made to connect people, celebrate culture and strengthen community through music.

You will benefit from one free ticket to an event in the festival programme.

Travel expenses will be reimbursed upon submission of receipts.

Requirements

Passionate, experienced and committed volunteers who would like to support our new project: Big World Festival.

To act as ambassadors for Shapeshifter Productions and the festival, with a kind, friendly and polite approach to dealing with the public.

As a world festival and charity, we believe in equal opportunities and welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life, providing they are willing to get the job done.

We will require you to fill out our application form, and may require you to take part in an informal discussion (may include an interview).
