1st Cheriton Scout Group is looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Trustee Board and help oversee the financial management of our local Scout charity.

You don’t need to be an accountant, just someone who is organised, comfortable with numbers, and willing to learn. Full support and guidance are provided.

This role is essential in helping us continue to provide safe, fun, and high quality Scouting for young people in our community.

What you’ll do
• Keep accurate financial records
• Monitor income and expenditure
• Prepare simple financial reports for the Trustee Board
• Support the annual budget and year end accounts
• Ensure good financial practice and charity compliance
• Work with the Group Lead Volunteer and Section Teams when needed
The Trustee Board meets three or four times a year, with occasional contact between meetings.

As part of this role, you may become aware of personal information relating to young people, families, or volunteers. We ask all team members to treat such information as confidential and follow our safeguarding procedures.
A DBS check and mandatory safeguarding and safety training are required before starting in role.

A few practical notes
• This is a voluntary role
