Exciting news as volunteer drop-in arrives at Folkestone

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new volunteer pop-up at the Rainbow Centre in Folkestone.

Being at the heart of our community to provide information with a friendly face and a cuppa is an exciting way to connect with anyone interested in volunteering and we cannot wait to welcome you.

Perhaps you would like advice on the latest opportunities, or require contact details for other organisations that can help with funding or training. If you are thinking of setting up a group we can help with that too. Whatever you need we will do our best to help, if we don’t have the answer, we will know who does.

Mark Connorton, Volunteer Connector for Folkestone and Hythe district, says it’s a great way to meet new people. He said: “It’s really good to be in the town centre so people can come and meet me. There’s so many volunteering opportunities out there I would like to share and I’m happy to chat to absolutely anyone who wants to volunteer or who needs volunteers. Whatever you need I will do my best to help and if I don’t have the answer, I will know who does! You can be sure of a warm welcome. I love meeting people. Folkestone town centre is a great place for people to eat, drink, shop and talk about volunteering.”

Volunteers are the lifeblood of their communities and are being celebrated at the Excellence in Volunteering Awards in Folkestone. To find out more and to nominate please visit the website.
