An exciting new project supporting Thanet’s charitable sector

Kent Coast Volunteering (KCV) is delighted to announce the start of a project, funded by The Tudor Trust, to support volunteering and volunteer involving organisations across Thanet.

Over the next three years KCV will deliver a range of services including networking and training for organisations and volunteers in the area.

Right now, our primary focus is on volunteering through KCV’s Simply Connect platform – where organisations and volunteers can advertise or apply for volunteering roles for free.  The platform is a really effective way to match volunteers with roles, so please do make full use of this service.

We are currently developing our wider support offer and in the coming weeks we will be asking charities, voluntary organisations and community groups for their thoughts about how we can best support them.

We are delighted to have been awarded this funding to support Thanet’s charity sector for the next three years. We aim to harness the enthusiasm for volunteering which emerged during the pandemic and find ways to strengthen the sector and improve its resilience.

We are particularly keen to hear from volunteer involving youth-focused organisations to look at how we can best support the work that you do in Thanet.
KCV Chief Executive Officer Kerry Smith

The project will be run by Project Management Officers Georgie MacFarlan and Emma Cooney who look forward to hearing from you.

Contact them with any questions around volunteering: volunteering@kcv.org.uk and they will do their best to help.
