Description

Dover Transport Museum is a friendly, independent, museum with 85 active volunteers engaged in a wide range of activities. It has no paid staff.

We are seeking an administrative support volunteer to help the museum’s governing committee improve procedures and records for induction, training, and rostering of volunteers, and to assist in ensuring good communications between the governing committee and the museum’s volunteer staff.

If you have an interest in social history, time to give and would like to make new friends this could be a role for you.

Requirements

• Experience of the museum sector and / or working with volunteers would be an advantage but an induction process, mentoring and time for familiarisation will be provided as necessary. 
• Required skills include IT capability with Office products, good communication skills and eye for detail.
• An ability to establish good personal and working relationships with a wide range of friendly fellow volunteers will be essential.
• We will ask that you reliably work the hours agreed, treat all staff-related information as confidential and that you comply with all established museum policies and procedures.
