Are you passionate about music? Want your voice to be heard?

Interested in helping make things better for young musicians?

We’re looking for 12 young people from Kent and Medway to join the brand-new Kent Music Youth Panel.

This is your chance to share your ideas, influence decisions, meet like-minded people,

No previous experience is needed – just enthusiasm, ideas and a willingness to get involved.

About Kent Music

Kent Music is a charity that believes music changes lives.

We work with schools, communities and partners across Kent and Medway to make sure children and young people can access high-quality music opportunities, both in and out of school.

Our goal is simple: every young person should have the chance to sing, play, create and enjoy music.

What you’ll do:

• Share your ideas at panel meetings, helping to make key decisions

• Help shape and develop the future of the Youth Panel

• Give your views on music opportunities and help improve them

• Take part in meetings (usually once a term during school holidays) and come ready to join in

• Speak up for young musicians, drawing on your own experiences

What rewards come with volunteering, and how does it create meaningful change?

What you’ll gain:

• Experience of being part of a youth panel or advisory group

• Confidence in sharing your ideas and speaking in a group

• Leadership and teamwork skills

• The chance to meet new people and make connections

• A chance to make a real impact on music opportunities in your area

Requirements

We’re looking for people who:

• Are aged 16–21 and in full-time education

• Are from Kent and Medway

• Enjoy music (you don’t have to be an expert!)

• Have ideas and are happy to share them• Will listen to others and work as part of a team

• Communicate clearly and respectfully

• Are interested in making a difference for other young people

The time commitment for being on the Youth Panel is designed to fit around school and other activities. You’ll attend Youth Panel meetings usually held once a term during the school holidays, and come ready to share your ideas and take part in discussions.
