Description

The East Kent Railway Heritage Site is full of history and charm.

Our woodland houses war time trenches and “dragon’s teeth.”

Plus we are a heritage colliery railway.

We are needing a team of volunteers to help us restore the trenches, update and refurbish our museum and education centre, plus ongoing to help maintain them and some volunteers helping with tours/educational visits.

What rewards come with volunteering, and how does it create meaningful change?

The East Kent Railway is a completely volunteer run heritage site and we want to build our volunteer teams to help keep our beautiful woodlands and railway station looking the best it can.

  • Helping to make the heritage site a wonderful place for people to visit.
  • Discounted railway rides and event entry.
  • Membership to the East Kent Railway.
  • Your own uniform provided.

Requirements

  • Must be interested in history.
  • Able to take direction/instructions.
  • Willing to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passionate about bringing the heritage to life and passing knowledge on to the next generation.
